mizsunshine: How do you get your house to smell really good?
I have used plug ins in every outlet, sprays, and tried just about everything. My house doesn’t stink, but I want it to have a really nice smell everyday to it. I’ve walked into people’s homes before and their house just smells really good and they aren’t burning anything, or have anything plugged in the walls. It’s almost like a natural really good smell that their house smells like it all of the time. Does anyone have any suggestions or anythign to use? To me, my house just smells like a house and nothing special.

Arm & Hammer Carpet Deodorizer. Do you clean the house frequently? Most people whose homes smell nice are constantly cleaning.

We light candles in my house. It’s nice because the fragrance travels. Plus it’s nice having a new fresh smell in the house everydayAnswer by Matt

Get some natural herbs or potpourri to place around the house, also cinnamon sticks are great as well.Answer by Mulberry3
One method that some real estate agents use to improve the odor of a home before an open house is to boil three cups of water and the spice cinnamon on the stove in a kitchen pan for about fifteen minutes. The best form of cinnamon to use for this purpose is probably cinnamon sticks (sold in many grocery stores). This technique gives the kitchen an aroma of warm cinnamon bread, and it is a pleasant, welcoming aroma. It can improve the odor of a home if there are kitty cats on the premises, or if the home has been vacant and has developed a musty odor.Answer by Melissa
There are ac filter fresheners that you can use that nobody can see. They come in a variety of scents and literally stick right to your ac filter and circulate the scent throughout the house as long as the unit is running. Usually in the ac filter section of your local grocer. See the link below for an example.

Answer by claytonYou might go to a pet store and pick up some Activated Charcoal, or go online and order some. It is a good product for absorbing odors, Set some out in a pie tin, and let it go to work for you. You did not mention pets, as this is a major source of stinky homes. Many people become acclimated to the odors and do not notice them. Also, do not sprinkle powder products on your carpet, as they are impossible to remove entirely with the vacuum and may provide residual odors. Have your products professionally cleaned by a hot water extraction company instead of the quick dry cleaners who only clean the carpet surface, and also provide residuals to the carpet, even though they claim they don’t.
