Sketch7: how do you feel when book characters start as kids and end older?
How do you feel when you read a book in which the first book is about the character as a kid, and the second and final book is about the character more grown up? Or do you think they should be all in the same book with him starting as a kid? Or what?
Why? A major part of my book is through a series of events that happened to him as a child, but it’s how they affect him in the present. But, for the format, I would like to know how readers feel about this sort of thing.

I personally like it. Especially if it’s over the course of many books. I just feel like when I’m reading the books I’m also growing up along with the character, which helps me to become much more connected to them by the end of the series.
Stories like these, i love them. There’s character change, they grow up, it’s wonderful. A reason why HP is one of my favourite books. 🙂

But that’s life! Kids start out young and grow older. You can have flashbacks if you wish – the person as an adult flashing back to something that happened as a kid.
