It is great for whatever reason they have decided to ‘jump on.’ Whatever the cause, the intentions are still the same!Answer by Stanley Fishbien
Celebrities will jump on ANY bandwagon to get attention !Answer by Fergiegurl
I feel happy because celebs can do a lot because they have the money to do lots of things. But some celebs with the money are not doing ANYTHING!. Orlando Bloom is creating a new house made up in entirley in Enviorment friendly house things! They are doing it for a great cause.Answer by LORD Z
Every little bit helps but eventually you have to wonder which voices to listen to and which ones to ignore.Answer by rico suave
only i deserve to be on the green bandwagon.Answer by WindRider
The thing about celebrities is that they are so highly visible to the rest of us. And since we tend to be herd-bound creatures, by and large, seeing someone do something good is actually a good thing. Yeah, I know it looks like hype, or maybe they’re doing it for the wrong reasons, but if it’s a good cause, I tend to overlook hypocrisy.Answer by ecogeek4ever
I don’t care why people are on the bandwagon… as long as they are helping make a difference and bringing attention to the issue.Answer by DragonHeart
We look upto celebrities for alot of things, the dress, their rides, their style.
THATS THE GREATEST THING THEY CAN DO… MODELS OF GOOD CAUSE.
I think it is great, and I wish alot of models and authority figures, leaders, celebrities, etc would do good things for earth, which would create harmony, unity, reduce pollution, equality of women and men, abolition of prejudice, abolition of hunger, etc….
I LOVE IT, I wish more people did it… Best of luck. Be blessed.
Answer by Chris HIt depends if they are doing it for the publicity, or if they are doing it because of their feelings. Also if they are really doing something, not just preaching about it.Answer by Ibblekinib
For better or for worse, celebrities are looked up to by millions of people around the globe.
I feel that any person that is given such a vast stage has a responsibility to use that stage for good whenever the opportunity presents itself… and if it does not, then make the opportunity happen.
Some people would really like to help but just do not know how… others are naive about what is going on in their world or have been fed misinformation.
What we all do in our backyards will eventually effect us all. Do as much as you can yourself… be a possitive example.
Answer by james tI’m all for protection of the environment, but so many efforts are misguided and misrepresented that I don’t pay attention anymore when someone talks about going green. More pollution is caused in making a hybrid vehicle than the vehicle could ever prevent simply by being “green”. Some celebrities do it for the publicity and because it’s trendy. Some, though not many, actually do realize that as highly-visible role models, they have an obligation to set a good example for others to follow. But with so many ideas about “going green” being inaccurate, I would probably group even the honestly earth-friendly celebrities as “jumping on the bandwagon.”
One HUGE exception to that is recycling. Recycling is a good sign of someone that genuinely wants to help the Earth. Show me a celebrity that recycles and I’ll show you a celebrity that I would give a cookie.
Answer by go go godzilla!i think its a great thing. Most people know celebrities and if they see that celebrities want to be “green” they will too. its kinda sad how we follow the trends of someone just because they are rich and famous but if its for the best then so be it. celebrities have the money and attention to really contribute to the environment. i think they can really attract more people to the cause.Answer by [email protected]
Like you said…it’s the trendy thing to do. I believe 99.9% of Hollywood is full of s**t! As soon as “being green” isn’t chic anymore, they’ll take up some other “cause” to prove to themselves and the rest of their ilk that they are superior to all of us little people.Answer by videogamer_reborn
Let me just give you a heads up.
Most are looking for the publicity and want to get recognized by more people so they can get more people to see their crappy C grade films.
Answer by Tony DI don’t have a problem with them actually going green. The problem is that most of them are hypocrites. They preach conservation but waste huge amounts of energy and resources with their oversized mansions and frequent trips in private jets.Answer by I know, I know!!!!
Actually I think it’s a good thing for celebrities to try to set a goos example. Alot of people are more likely to follow the lead of a celebrity that just a regular person who is not famous.
Everyone needs to be more conscious of the environment. It may not change our lives that much, but think of your children and grandchildren. They deserve to have a beautiful place to live and clean air to breathe.
Answer by Jenna CIf I see a celeb jumping onto some kind of bandwagon for the environment or some such cause, I like to see how serious they are before I back them up. If they seem to give up on their “cause” after awhile I say good ridence.
I think there are some celebs (ahem, Madge) who think they are setting a good example, but in reality they just make themselves look like greedy people. I kinda wish they would take their causes a little more seriously, (again, ahem, Madge…adoption is more than a promise to a poor farmer!).
Answer by JANThe more the merrier. Celebrities are people too. Why shouldn’t everyone go green? It is in every ones best interest.Answer by Hayduke
if there actually living green, heart and soul…good. if there half-assing it for more publicity…don’t you think they get enough? They are seen by millons of people, and people look up to them as role models so it’s a good thing for the most part! they can help spread the word and maybe someday as a united people we can turn things around…nuff saidAnswer by qncyguy21
How do you know they are doing it because it is “trendy”?
even if they are, its for a good cause, so who cares??!
is it a bad thing when they are doing public service commercials against drinking and driving after they just got caught for it, and court ordered to do it?
regardless of why they are doing it, is of no consequence.
the fact that the message gets out is all that matters.
Well, its better than them supporting the corporations that oppose the enviroment.
