Q ball: How do physics and engineering go together?
I just did a project in physics. It was the egg drop in which we had to construct a container with popsicle sticks and only given materials (such as rubberbands, paper clips, and a plastic bag) and we had to stick the egg in it and drop it from certain meters and see if it survived.
I have to do a write up.
From this project, what will i have learned about engineering and how do engineering and physics go together?

Write about impulse. Impulse is force times time. or I =Ft
Impulse is the total force on the object over a given time. We want to drop the impulse as much as possible by increasing time so that there’s the least amount of…damage, so to say… as possible.
This is to reduce the impact of an object, such as the egg, that was dropped towards a hard surface. It is very related to engineering because that’s what manufacturers have to consider about when there are car accidents or collisions.
The air bag in the car is just as similar to the soft area in your container that is…to catch the survived egg. Engineering is all about the design to have the best quality from the least quantity of resources in the shortest amount of time.

If you were to analyze the forces on the container, you would be using physics. Physics is one of the tools that is used to solve engineering problems, the same as heat transfer, calculus, thermodynamics and many other subjects that are studied.
