I have a friend that I receive email from. Recently, I have been receiving email messages from the address of my friend, but the message contained in the email is spam mail. If I mark these messages as spam, won’t I be identifying my friend’s email address as a spam address? How do I fix this problem? Thank you for your help.

1. Use gmail ( https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2 ). It has a great spam filter.
2. Your friend’s account was hacked or his=her computer got a virus. Try reinstalling his/her computer or tell him that he/she needs a new account.

Your friend may be infected, or it may be someone else that has both of you in their address book. You can look at the full header to see if that helps you determine if it really came from him or from somewhere else.

He should scan his computer with anti-spyware. If that doesn’t stop the spam, you’ll have to simply sort thru all mail from him to determine the real vs the spam
