smsch67: How do I stop Facebook from asking if I want to make it my homepage?
Every single time now I open Facebook, a pop up on top keeps asking to make Facebook the home browser page. Pop up blocker does not stop it, and there is no way to cancel it without it asking you every single time.
So far, the element hiding helper for ad block plus, immediately worked !

I don’t know but i want it gone too….how many times do you have to answer NO/……
I just started seeing that too, annoying. Adblock plus on it’s own doesn’t stop it but if you search for the “Element Hiding Helper” plugin that goes along with adblock plus, that gets rid of it. Once you install it, ctrl-shft-k and a red square will start to show up over things you can have hidden automatically. Press “w” to widen the choice, “n” to narrow it. Make sure you widen it enough to get the whole top banner, not just the part with the text.
It also lets you get rid of a lot of that extra stuff on the sides like friends photo gallerys, etc…that are on the right hand side. You may not want to get rid of all of those though or you won’t see birthdays, pokes, etc… It takes a little trial and error to get the settings correct for the stuff on the right hand side, but it takes care of this new “homepage” thing at the top really easy.
Answer by I heart to cookmine does it too. i just keep clicking the x thing… it’s not a pop up. a pop up is a different window blocking your window. but it’s just a thing they just put on facebook. don’t worry, with enough people complaining about it they will remove it, i hope. it’s very annoying to me too…Answer by sogy
betterfacebook has that ability along with other features.
