¡Viva la revolución!: How do I prepare for freshman football and what position should I play?
I am 5’10 and weigh ~140 pounds. I want to try out for my High School’s football team when school starts. The only previous experience I have had is playing for Pop Warner football maybe 1 1/2 years ago. I am not a very good receiver at all.

Maybe a tight end or a tailback. Defense, safety or linebacker depending on your hit power and build
Based on your height and weight, I believe that the best fit for you is at running back. Considering your age, your size gives you the potential to become a very elite high school running back.
What you need to do this August is eat healthy, and exercise by doing a lot of running every day. If you do these two things, you will greatly improve your chances of being successful in freshman football this season.
