Crystal: How do I make my apartment smell nice when the neighbors smoke?
I am a neat freak and I constantly keep my apartment clean. I wash everything at least once a week and I use reed diffusers, candles, and glade plug ins but I can still smell cigarette smoke (among other things) filtering into my apartment from the master bath, guest bath, and laundry room which is only divided from my neighbors apartment by a wall. It has to be coming from them because I do not smoke. Nothing seems to last very long. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can try an air purifier, but nothing is really gonna help much. Cigarette smoke is just way overpowering.Answer by slurpitup
Try an air purifier and burn scented oils. The oils seem to cling to the air and wallsAnswer by barmax
Buy some activated charcoal. It is superior in absorbing any odors, better than any candle, air freshener, or baking soda. Do not confuse it with the kind you use on the bbq. Check out the link below. It sucks up any bad aromas better than anything I know. Also, have you tried speaking to the landlord about this problem? I find it offensive that you have to suffer this way. Good luck!!!Answer by cherrypie37650
just to add to all of the other great tips pure vanilla not only smells nice but it also is a natural odor absorber. try some pretty tea cups or bowls that blend in with your decor filled with pure vanilla. that should help out with all the other tipsAnswer by bxr
Have you considered an air cleaner?
I have several and I believe they help.
Mine are all made by bionaire, although there are many brands

from their site:
Air purifiers (also known as air cleaners) remove odors and common airborne pollutants from the environment by drawing air through a filter system. Reducing airborne allergens and irritants such as pollen, mold, dust, pet dander and tobacco smoke can reduce symptoms of allergies and hay fever. Air purifiers also remove odors and chemicals from household cleaners and furnishings, helping home owners create a truly healthful and pure indoor living environment for their families
