JPaul713: How do I “lock” a door from the inside without changing the locks?
Here’s the deal:
I have a bitter employee that was fired earlier tonight who has a key to my business. I need to figure out a way to keep the employee from coming into the business TONIGHT with their keys. BESIDES CHANGING THE LOCKS, because it is 3 a.m. here and there is not a store open where i can buy new locks. There are 3 total doors–2 share the same key, 1 is different.
I can use a small board to “board up” 2 doors overnight but then obviously can’t board up the 3rd without locking myself in! 🙂
Any creative ideas? (obviously very temporary—until sunday a.m.!)
PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU!

I was going to suggest something, but it won’t work. We have a deadbolt lock than can only be seen from the inside. You would need to be able to get out.
First thing in the morning get new locks and long deadbolts. I hope that you
also have a good alarm system as well. Good luck. That is a sticky situation.
If you plan on using a locksmith tomorrow morning, you could super glue the key hole shut.
If the employee only has one of the keys, then board up those doors/locks and use the other one. I assume you came up with that one on your own though.
Good luck.
Answer by John HLay a mattress in front of the door–and sleep on it.

Answer by matt nIf you have something to anchor it around you could get an ordinary bike lock (flexi-chain type) or a chain and a padlock. If you don’t have anything to anchor it around your best bet might be to superglue the lock like the other poster said since the locks are going to be replaced anyway.
