FCGBM: How do I get internet service for a desktop and a laptop in the same house?
I am moving in my own apartment with my girlfriend. She has a laptop and I have a desktop. I wanted to know what kind of internet service I should get so we both could be on our computers at the same time. And I just pay one bill. (If that is possible.) I am basically looking for the of this service. (Eg. Wireless internet, satellite internet, etc.)

Just get a internet connection and just get a router for it that way yours is land line or wireless and hers will be wireless
Any dsl or cable internet with a wireless router will allow you both to connect if the laptop has wireless it will be really easy you just take and set the internet up to the desktop then take and connect the modem ethernet cable to the router uplink and you then take and connnect the router to the desktop and follow the step on the installation guide. AT&T will provide you with a wireless router with there dsl service most of the time.Answer by RJ
The easiest way is to get service with any internet service provider, then buy and hook up your own wireless router. It is easy. You hook your internet modem up to the router. You can hook your desktop up directly (hardwire) to the modem or router. Then your girlfriend can get online using the wireless feature. This is how we have our home set up. My son’s desktop is hardwired in (he is a gamer and the slight speed advantage is important to him), but we have four other computers and laptops which get online through the wireless connection. One bill, as many computers as you like. And you don’t have to sign up for your ISP’s ‘wireless service’ because all they do for that is rent a wireless router to you (you end up paying a lot more that way) and hook it up for you; there are detailed instructions with the wireless router when you buy it so you can hook it up yourself.
