How do I delete a desktop icon from my user account without deleting the icon from my wife’s account?

Beest21: How do I delete a desktop icon from my user account without deleting the icon from my wife’s account?
I have Windows XP. My wife plays the Sims games and the icons clutter up my desktop when she installs them. When I delete the icons from my desktop it deletes them from my wife’s desktop as well. Anyone know the answer to this before my wife gets too pissed off haha?

Create a folder on your desktop called junk and drag and drop the icons in there.

If right-click + remove Delete Shortcut doesn’t work, you’ll have to just live with it.

In My Computer go to: “C:Documents and Settings*YOURUSER*Desktop” and delete the shortcuts from there. If this doesn’t work then you are probably using the same login and you cannot get rid of the shortcuts.
