girlinlove: How do I “check” my puppy in at the airport?
I am taking my puppy with me to Ohio. I have the correct kennal, the health, acclimation and rabies certificates, all the stuff he needs to fly. I am just wondering how it all works at the airport. Do I take him in on a leash and the kennal seperate? Does he go to the regular check-in counter? That sort of thing. I will be flying out of Sea-Tac so specific info would be great but I’ll take any advice. He will be flying as “checked luggage” on delta flights with me.
I understand that I need to call the airport- I guess I was looking for some people who have done this who could give me some good tips. (stuff the airport may not nec tell me)

I would call the airport and see what their specific procedure is. That way you can be as prepared as possible. It might be a good idea to call the Ohio airport as well, so you know where to go and can get your baby as soon as possible after the flight is over. Good luck!
Call the airline counter/office at your airport (Sea-Tac) and ask: they will want to know you’re bringing the dog and can give you the specifics of how they do things there.
Also: do not wait until the last minute before calling

have him stand in line with the other passengers and talk to them like everything is ok and normal. My guess is the personnel that checks the others in will never notice he isn’t who he says he is.Answer by Help
I ship dogs very often and the precedure is,you must book a flight for your pet first, then on shipping date take your pet to the airport in the kennel cab, they usually check in at check in counter, but you must arrine 1 1/2 hours before flight schedule. They will then weigh the dog and kennel and then you pay for the flight.Would recommend you use Continental airlines as cargo where dog will be is climate controlled. You will be issued a conformation # to claim your pet after arriving at destination.
