monkeywrench: How do i catch a feral parrot?
Here in this small town there is parrot that has escaped or ben turned free and it comes and feed off my sweet corn in the garden. I have tried every way possible to capture it with zero success.Simply put the bird must be smarter than I am! Any reasonable suggestions solicited.
This bird simply must be caught before fall and winter. He/she has zero chances of surviving the weather here where I live.

find a bird bander, borrow a #2 net with poles and have at it.
take couple of shucked ears of corn for bait, put them under a box, in the corn rows, held up by a stick attached to a sting that you pull from your hiding place.
Answer by Yvonne Ngain it’s trust!! don’t go at all the time he/she will stay away from you(probably thinks you want to deep fry him/her) stay close when its feed, whistle read just don’t surprise him.
it’ll take about a month or two
if your impatient, get a large cage stuff it with corn or seed if he was a house pet he’ll recognise it as a safeplace/home, if he doesn’t come he’s probably native/ or tuned wild and knows how to care for himself.
