Mr 777: How do I become proficient at SEO?
I am interested in landing a SEO position but my experience is at the entry level. There are positions out there but they all require 2-3 years experience
is there any type of especialized training or certification that would help me be more marketable?

Go online, there is lots of stuff written on SEO. Read that. Read guidelines by google. It will increase your seo knowledge.

The only answer is: Research. As the world of SEO is constantly changing and what’s in now may be out tomorrow, you have to be on the watch out for the latest tools out there. You can learn the basics first and start building your way up to doing white hat techniques that won’t get your client’s site banned from Google. Yes, there are training or certification out there to help you become marketable, but most clients look at real-time results or how you have help boost a client’s website page ranking through your efforts. to became a proficient SEO you need first to study the basic part of SEO.

First: be acquainted with the HTML and know the html tags.
Second: you must know how web sites are been crawled by search engines
Third: Read books about SEO
Fourth: Go every forum and ask for things that you do not understand.
