First, you should be aware that larger travel agencies may obligate a travel agent to have a liberal arts or business degree. Second, Learn to speak a second language. This skill is invaluable for a travel agent. Also, you may want to consider working as a ticketing agent to gain solid experience in the travel industry. You should also be as computer literate as possible because travel agents conduct much of their business via computer. Check with your state’s Department of Commerce for any registration or certification requirements for travel agents and read a wide variety of travel magazines to keep up with current trends in the industry. Good luck!
First of all, let me tell you that In Europe and America, Travel industry is the biggest in term of its economical size, it is estimated that 100 billion dollars are spent by the people want to travel.
Second thing is that traveling and tourism are every green occupations, you get business through out the year. Third thing is that, you get a lot of commission if you are a successful one.
Let me ask you some questions?
Do you think you can convince people to select a particular tour. I mean do you have that much convincing power?
How good are you in public dealing? Have you individualistic or open personality?
Do have have interest in travel destinations and worth visiting places.
If the answer is yes, you should be a travel agent. If you have some concerns, think about the other options.
i will recommend you to stay away from all online schools and get a proper diploma from some school whose diploma is authentic.
Best of luck for your travel agent ship.
