Ren: How do hotels maintain such crisp linen? I just purchased some sateen sheets and the instructions said to iron
and I thought, “HA!” Well I pulled them out of the dryer and they are an awful mess. I’ve never ironed sheets before. These are king sized sheets and my attempt at ironing proved time consuming and ackward due to the size of the sheets. I used starch too but I can’t imagine doing this every week. Does anyone have any tips and I guess hotels really do pay someone to IRON all of those sheets?! How do you keep your sheets dewrinkled and beautiful?

Hotels, or their linnen services, have very large presses instead of irons and can iron a sheet flat in two shots. The easiest method I can recomend is to hang your linnens instead of tumble drying. Takes more time, but much easier to get the few remaining wrinkles out.
Yup, they iron their sheets on big commercial presses.
Me, I buy perma-press sheets.
ps: sateen is a rather weak weave, won’t last as long as plain weave.
I used to laboriously spend hours ironing my bedding because I prefer it to look crisp and clean. I have given up on the ironing lark after 37 + years and now let someone else do it for a charge of 40 items for £22 — great value and saves me hours of leisure time. So send it out for someone else to do and spend your time doing something you enjoy.
