Complementarity in A&P basically outlines the relationship between structure (anatomy) and function (physiology). anatomy is study of structure while physiology is study of function,
its not possible to study physiology without knowing anatomy
knowledge in anatomy is useless without further knowledge in physiology.
for example: you cannot understand the working of a engine without knowing its parts(atleast a little)
if you know the components of engine and doesn’t know the working of engine it is useless
here useless doesn’t mean completely useless but means necessary to know about other
