Hello Jay ….
The relationship between of Accounting and Finance classes to Economics classes
is pretty remote. Economics is quite different.
Microeconomics focuses on individuals and individual firms making economic based decisions
and predictions applicable to their own benefit. You making an investment or borrowing money would fall in the scope of microeconomics.
Macroeconomics is concerned with the ” big picture ” . It is concerned with effects that
trends , policies, and events have on governments, groups of nations, and the whole global
economy. The current disaster in Japan is in the realm of macroeconomics.
Both can be demanding and require learning the language and terminology of economics.
They are taught here at OSU. I do not know of horror stories about either. Many students take
both and are successful. I would not recommend taking both in the same semester or quarter.
I wish you the best.
