Janine: How come short hair seems to grow faster than long hair?
I used to have long hair but than I cut it all off to chin length hair. Last month my was down my neck and now it is just barely touching my shoulders. When my hair was long it didn’t grow that much. But my hair is short and it seems to be growing faster compared to when it was long.

Because you can tell the difference between short hair and long hair easier than long hair and longer hair. Also shorter hair is less likely to get split ends or break off.
It seems that way because you could of cut off damaged/split hair. When hair is damaged or split, it can break off it make it “appear” like it isn’t growing. Did you use a straightener all the time and dyed you hair? That can make your hair brittle and break off.
In reality, trimming and hair cutting can’t make your hair grow. Hair is dead protein and you can’t do anything directly to your hair to make it grow. It grows from inside the scalp, so nutrition does matter when it comes to hair growth.
Since you cut off split hair, it isn’t weak and breaking off.
