How come I get signed out of yahoo messenger when I go to my yahoo mail?

Ken: How come I get signed out of yahoo messenger when I go to my yahoo mail?
I have Yahoo messenger on my computer. When I check my yahoo mail I get signed out of my messenger when its running. How can i check my yahoo mail without getting signed out of messenger?

I would try signing out of chat first (on the mail page, next to your name at the top of the screen), then sign in to yahoo messenger. it worked for me. (i’m actually checking my theory, four times — all times has worked!!) =]

Are you using the shortcut button to get to yahoo mail, or are you switching to yahoo search then to mail? The shortcut button should not sign you out like that. But my browser and Yahoo both take it as a better connection, and will log you over to yahoo main.

This is a new problem other Yahoo Mail clients are experiencing. I contacted Yahoo when it started happening to me recently. They referred me to their security department and I was told to change my password immediately. Changing my password worked for one day. The message on my computer actually states that I’ve signed into Yahoo Messenger from another computer.
