How can I tell who is the father of my pregnant dwarf hamsters babies?

Miss Maranda Marie: How can I tell who is the father of my pregnant dwarf hamsters babies?
I let all my female and male hammies meet the other day and one of my hamsters has a vaginal plug. Problem is I have 2 diferent males. My hamsters are Russian dwarf and having the father around is vital in baby survival. How can I figure out who is the father so I can make sure he is around for the babies?
I’ve been doing reading my russian hamsters can acctually have the male around in fact he will help with the babies especially if I end up breeding winter whites.

Actually the male will kill the babies so you shouldn’t have the male around even during the pregnancy before she has them as she may kill him.

It doesn’t matter because the male would kill the babies anyway. But i bet those babies r adorable tho!!

The father is not needed for the babies to survival in fact in the wild he would be long gone. If you keep him with the mom she will become stressed and might eat the babies. When you are breeding you need to be more responsible and do more research. You should only have had one male and one female together at the time because the males could have decided to fight for the female and you could have ended up with a dead hammy. You may need to separate the females depending on how cranky the mom gets so be prepared with an extra cage.

Well the babies dont need the father. Actually the father doesnt WANT the babies but check the coloring and see if you can match up who is the dad!
