Micaela L: How can I reduce my breasts for a dress?
I recently bought a gorgeous Gothic Lolita dress. I bought the largest size possible just in case (though I have an American small to medium figure except for my breasts). When I finally received it and tried it on, it fit quite well (a bit loose in some places actually) but I could not zip it past my breasts. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to temporarily flatten my breasts so I can wear my dress?
A friend suggested bandaging or a minimizer bra. Any feedback on these ideas?

hmm, take the dress to a tailor and see if they can fix itAnswer by ringocat22
It will fit better and look better if you have it altered. Find a local tailor or dressmaker/seamstress to help you out.Answer by Dianne S
Bandaging would certainly work. Any time a woman loses any amount of weight, however, the first place it goes is her breasts!Answer by Stellaluna
Just get the dress altered at a store/ dry cleaners. That’s what I did to my dress.Answer by sk8rsnogirl

Duck Tape your boobs down. That’s what I did.Answer by Aunt C
Minimizer bras work very well. They can take off an inch or more depending on the bra. Also, it may sound strange, but a good sports bra can work really well, too, if you need to flatten but don’t need definition.
Good luck.
Answer by yumietreatTry bandaging them up or take the dress to a Taylor and have her adjust it in the right areas. It doesn’t cost a lot and you will be happy you did. You can find them at the dry cleaners.Answer by Dancing Queen!!!
you can’t reduce your breast size…just take it to a tailor, or if theres no time, then do what the first guy said.Answer by BBXX
minimizing bra’s work or bandaging the area assuming it’s not low cut
if its a tube dress i would say bandaging the area (it would also help with that fact that you dont have to wear a bra with the dress)
but if its low cut all you can really do is get a minimizing bra.
You could also get it altered so there is a bit more room in that area.Answer by [email protected]

– on new year i bought this gorgous dress online and when it came it fit me but my breast were huge! i wrapped them in food cling film! hahah, atleast the dress zipped up 🙂
if not i suggest losing weight and having the taylor fit it to your body properly?

Answer by Jessie KateThe reason tailoring the dress WILL NOT WORK:
they can make something smaller, but bigger doesn’t work. They would need more of the exact same material, which they don’t have, and you don’t have to give them. So, tailoring is not an option.
Bandaging will work, and it probably cheaper than a minimizer bra. Go with bandaging.
