How can i hire a hotel without a credit card?

Samantha: How can i hire a hotel without a credit card?
I need to book a hotel and don’t have a credit card or anyone that has it.

What other ways would i be able to book one?
Would i be able to go to the hotel since its in same city and pay full for hotel in advance?
Or would there be extra costs?

you wont be able to book it if you dont have a credit card but most hotels will take an advance pay….call em up and ask what they can do for you

Book online – much cheaper! www.wotif.com is great and i use it everytime i travel. Most hotels need a credit card for security however. You may want to look into having your savings account debit card changed to a visa debit card if you don’t want to apply for a credit card – using visa but your own money. You can pay in advance at the hotel with cash or debit card…just get a receipt! 🙂

Edit – oh sorry wotif only accepts visa, mastercard, american express, diners club or wotif giftvouchers. 🙂 something to try for next time!

You can pay in full in advance.
But be aware, most hotels will also require a damage deposit.
This can be as much as 2 or 3 nights stay.

Do you have a debit card from a checking account?
You can use this, as long as you have the damage deposit in the account.
You can expect to get your deposit back in full in about 2 days after you check out…
