JamesDean: How can I get a chain restaurant to build a location in my town?
Our town doesn’t have a single “sit down” supper type of chain restaurant. We have a decent sized college, 5 or 6 bars that get packed every night, a computer software company that employs over a hundred people, but no one to really finance purchasing an entire franchise.
Are there restaurants that will just place a business in a town much like WalMart does? I’m pretty sure you can’t buy a “WalMart franchise”…
Is there a group of, like, venture capital people who will consider investing in restaurants?

Wal-Mart doesn’t franchise.
And some restaurants are company owned.
The best place to start is go to their website, and find the person in charge of public relations.
But before you do that, get some “clout” behind you.
Talk to your city councilman, chamber of commerce, and an economic development department if you have one.
This will get more persons with experience in this area involved in your idea, and may give you an edge in convincing a company to invest in your community.
Good Luck 2U!
have a rich person buy a franchise with a company
