Jenny C.: How can I fix my fast-food “addiction” & weight gain issue?
I know – fast food is terrible for your health. Unfortunately, I have heavy cravings for it at NIGHT which is even worse. I’ll have Wendy’s BK, McDonald’s, you name it. I go to sleep STUFFED, it’s so nasty … I’m 19 and am about 5’4 ft and I weigh 160 lbs. My butt has less tone and is more jiggly, my arms are flabby & I’m devoloping little rolls on my back. My co-workers are telling me to eat cottage cheese and drink less coffee. But I wanna know – how can I stop the night cravings issue? how will I ever stop myself from having a delicious ice cold coke?
Bottom-line is that I have a lack of self-control & want to know from those who have had to do something similar – what kind of tactics or guidelines did you set for yourself to stop these terrible eating habits?

Subway…eat fresh

I have the same problem as you. I can go without food during the day but once the sun goes down I am hungry! Rice cakes come in an assortment of flavors and they aren’t that bad. Fat Free Yogurt (Yoplait) / Low Fat Yogurt (Yoplait) has a wonderful assortment of flavors. And, Yoplait is really good! Popcorn – no butter or salt. In the ice cream section of the stores you can find reduced calorie ice cream bars, ice cream treats……… Fresh fruits like grapes and bananas are good. Apples….. Oranges…. Blue Berries…….
Even with doing this, you still need to keep your guard up! Fat free and low fat will make you gain if you don’t eat wisely!

Answer by EllenThe only thing you can do is to change your lifestyle. Really. There is no special tactics. Just stop it! Will can conquer habit. You should change your diet first. Just make an effort. I think you have a great stimulus – to be beautiful, happy, and healthy! It’ll be difficult at first, but many-many people say as you start eating right it becomes more and more natural for your body, so eventually your cravings for junk will stop.
What holds you from having normal breakfast, lunch and dinner? Of course you will want to eat at night if you were hungry all day! Buy a book about healthy living if you can’t pick right food yourself. Try to eat more fruits, veggies, yogurt or cottage cheese for breakfast, whole grains, etc, etc… No sodas, no fast-food, less sugar, less processed foods… You probably know already what is good and what is bad for you! By the way, you’ll save a lot of money! Eating out is expensive, even at McDonalds.
And, of course, physical activity helps too.
