Well being as she is in grade school you pretty much just have to let her decide if she is going to or not. You can’t force her to do something like wear glasses. Try explaining to her that the less she wears them the worse her eye sight is going to get. I told my cousin that if she didn’t wear her’s that the only other option was contacts. Then she asked what those were and I told her that they melted them to her eyes so that she could see better. lol. That freaked her out understandably.(She was 7 at the time.) She’s now 9 and wears them all the time without a fight. Besides they take some getting use to.
tell her that her eyes may get worse.
or bribe her haha.
tell her that if she wears them everyday like she is supposed to, that once she gets to a certain age, that you guys will let her get contacts so she doesnt have to wear glasses.
Answer by mathildeeslingtell her that she looks smarter and sexier with glasses….compare her with a beautiful woman ( possibly famous and that she likes) who wears glasses…Answer by Kristina
I had that as well, but at first they thought I was going blind. I started not wearing them because I didn’t like them and the doctor told me my eyes were actually getting better because my brain had learned to use the glasses as a handicap for so long.
I wouldn’t suggest it, but I don’t think it’ll hurt her if she chooses not to wear them. All glasses do is redirect light into your eyes. If she can see objects and lettering well, she may not want to wear them unless she’s having difficulty.
Eyes are trained, sometimes wearing glasses all the time will impair them more than help them. Native Americans were found to have the best eyesight, as they had to focus long distance for hunting and their brains adjusted and their eyes did accordingly.
People train their eyes to look at fast objects and it slows down their perception of speed as their eyes learn to work faster to observe.
If she doesn’t have a problem seeing objects normally, she only needs to wear the glasses when she has difficulties (i.e., reading) I only use mine now for driving.
Answer by TameraI used to forget to wear my glasses ALL the time when I was 9, and my eyesight was really bad. I would simply forget.
Make a chart for her showing each day of the week and give her a sticker on the chart for every day she wears her glasses. Tell her that when she gets 5 stickers (or 7) you will do something special just you and her – maybe play a game she likes that you don’t generally like to play, or do make-up on each other, or a special bike ride with just her big sibling.
Make sure when she does wear her glasses that you tell her how nice she looks and how proud of her you are for taking care of her eyesight.
