How can a religion be peaceful and loving if the God will allow you to burn forever for not worshiping him?

My name IS Denver [Suspended]: How can a religion be peaceful and loving if the God will allow you to burn forever for not worshiping him?
I’m the loving most peaceful thing in creation, yet if you don’t kiss my ass I will give you over to someone who will burn you forever.

I have all power to stop him from taking you, but since I’m so loving and peaceful I think it is in your best interest to burn forever.

actually i remember a story about a tribe in africa who when the first catholics tried to convert them since god was so good and caring they started praying to satan so he wouldn’t hurt them…lol

Christians are kind of backwards when it come to definitions like “love” and “truth”. They make all kinds of lame justifications to meld a psychotic monster (old testament) with a loving creator. They just don’t get it that the human definition of love has absolutely nothing to do with eternal suffering.

the lake of fire, burning forever is a metaphor, a misunderstood metaphor as are most of Jesus’ teachings.

I think he was thinking of the loss of his father Joseph and how painful that was so compared the separation from God as painful as burning forever.

Jesus was a Jew and so would have understood hell as just separation from God.

Denver, you can stop hating God now. Nowhere in scripture does it say that people who reject God will be tortured or burn forever. We grieve over their choices, but God wants no satan repeats with Him for eternity. What will happen to them is that they will be tossed into a lake of fire that burns eternally and they will be burned up. Being dead and having rejected God, they miss out on an eternity with Him.
