When you use the internet, your web browser normally stores information on what pages you have visited. You can remove this information by following the instructions below applies to your web browser. To find out which web browser you are using, click on “help” in the top bar of your web browser.
There are many different types of computers and operating systems. We have based our instructions on computers running Windows XP and Apple OS X, but the instructions will be similar for other operating systems.
We recommend you go to a “safe” web page (one that nobody could object to, for example about the weather or local information) before you carry out these instructions. If you stay on our site while you carry them out, your web browser may keep the information for this page.
Internet Explorer:
There are a few different versions of Internet Explorer; the information below is for Internet Explorer 7. The information you need for other versions should be similar or only slightly different.
1. Click on the “Tools” menu.
2. Select “Internet Options”.
3. On the “General” tab, click to select “Browsing history” then click on the “Delete” button.
4. Next select “Temporary Internet Files” then click on “Delete files” (you will need to click on “yes” if a pop-up is displayed).
5. Select “History” then click on “Delete History” (again, you will need to click on “yes” if a pop-up is displayed).
6. Select “Form Data” then click on “Delete Forms” (you will need to click on “yes” if a pop-up is displayed).
7. Finally, click on “Close” at the bottom of this window.
