I have been interested for a while now in working on the floor but it seems like it’s being phased out, is this true?

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is converting their trading floor to rental offices.
In this day of electronic everything, who needs a trading floor. Besides, when people meet and speak directly, there are inevitable mistakes. Computers match deals perfectly and in the correct order and log everything. Most trading in NYSE listed stocks is not on the NYSE exchange floor now, so nobody would miss it. NYSE actually owns ARCA the ECN.
