Susan F: Fashion rules and do you still follow them?
I am planning a new wardrobe and want to know some fashion do’s and dont’s. Is no blue with black or brown with black still followed? Or the no white after labor day? What are other fashion rules I should consider when buying new updated clothing?

Fashion doesn’t exist. Just something we make up to feel better about our personal preferences and how they relate to the general populous. Wear what you like, and call it fashion if you want, but most of all, learn to feel comfortable in your own skin.
The only ‘fashion rule’ I personally follow is no denim on denim.
Example: Denim jacket, and jeans.
But, the best bet is to buy clothes that suit your body shape.
It’ll make a big difference.
If you are unsure what your body shape is – look over the internet for body shapes and compare them to your own, or ask a retail assistant.
Don’t be too wrapped up on the fashion rules. Just wear what makes you comfortable, and that YOU think looks good.
Good luck.
Answer by pandaloveFashion has no limits. Wear whatever you are feel comfortable in. Wear anything you feel confident in. Just have fun, mix and match. When buying clothes for a new wardrobe, consider basic things like a plain white shirt, hat, pair of jeans, a trusty jacket, a little black dress, sneakers, some nice heels or flats, a skirt, a sturdy handbag, etc. Do have fun in dressing up. 😀Answer by Shelblob
I don’t follow the “no white after Labor Day” Rule, I think as long as it fits appropriately with the season, it’s fine.
