What type of exams are given when getting pills ?

c’est moi: What type of exams are given when getting pills ?
I’m 16 years old and I’m not sexually active. The pills would mainly be for my menstrual cycle. So I want to know what kind of tests/exams would be given to me at the doctor.

They should only ask questions because your under 18. You shouldn’t have to have a pap because you haven’t been sexually active. The pill is only effective if taken everyday as prescribed other than that you should be fine.

first off if your not 18 you will need you parents consent. Also the “pill” is not going to help you much with not wanting you monthly. some help you only get ever 3-4 months but you still get it. The depo shot however seems to work well. I have been on the depo for two years and i only spot every once in a while. like every 2 months ill have less than one day where i will spot just barley enough to even tell. Im sure you have heard you gain weight on depo. This is copmleatly incorrect. I do NOT diet and exersize like i should be and i have stayed 127 for the whole time. I do take calcium though, as you would while on any birth control.

Testing involves a long paper work you have to fill out that you state your family health and your sexaul history. Please be honest. The nurses do not discriminate, is is 100% confidentail, and for the sole purpose of what you are going in for. You may want to consider if this is your first time to go ahead (if you have had sex) to get screened for any stds. you may not know you have them, but please dont get on birth control before you know what you may be giving to others. This is optional but a non costly desicion that may save you money and embarrassment in the future. You WILL how ever have to get a pap smear done (yes even if you have never had sex). This just checks for cirvical cancer, for the most part. but you can look up what a pap smear is if you realy want to know. Breast exam. Not too big a deal. i hope you make all the right decisions. birth control can be tricky. you need ask a gyno at wherever you want to get this done all the facts about what may be avaliable to you and any risks of taking them. Good luck to ya
