I need example of current taxations or subsidization programs that are used in order to prevent an externality, such a pollution. I’m having a hard time understanding what that is exactly?

The government subsidizes the poor to keep them from being motivated.
They tax the productive hard workers to kill there motivation.
They don’t want the US to be extremely motivated to be successful.
