You need to become a member of the PGA of America in order to be a Golf Professional. You can read all about the PGM (Professional Golf Management) program that is offered at several colleges in the U.S.
Go to PGALinks.com and click on “Become a Member” to read all about it.
I work in membership for the PGA. I can answer any other questions you may have.
Answer by mblYour ability to play isn’t all that important. More important is your management, business, marketing, etc skills. And certainly having a deep golf knowledge goes a long ways. You need to deeply understand the handicap system, club repair, planning and running tournaments and outings, etc, etc. But technically, one could be a great golf professional without ever having to hit a shot.Answer by Sumit Khan

After school time or during weekends, you should play golf with a professional instructor. Watch television channels that feature golf games. Or you can read book, articles, publications about golf.
