I’ve always thought that the meaning of a busniess administration degree is so that an individual can start his/her own business. Is that true? What types of jobs are out there for people who just want to work in a business field?

A business administration degree qualifies you to manage a business that is already up and running, it does not qualify you to own a business. As for types of jobs for people who want to work in a business field, they range from mail room clerks to chairman of the board.

Actually it means that your are a guru of business.
But if you are talented enough, you can run your business without any degree.
