Times New Roman: Does LinkedIn work? What are your experiences with LinkedIn?
I opened a LinkedIn account because I wanted to find jobs and meet new connections, get to know people and professionals.
So far all I got is spam in my email inbox. What are your experiences with LinkedIn?

It’s good for staying in contact with old co-workers. But so far, it LinkedIn hasn’t really helped me much personally.
I use it to keep track of people. The “jobs” part is weak. Use Monster and Dice for the jobs part.Answer by MiR
It is actually not a site for new connections. It is more a site where you sign up to keep in contact with previous people you worked with, people you know etc.
For finding jobs, I would use something like Monsterboard or specialised agencies in your field of expertise.
Answer by ~Tgae~I have only two connections and cant get anymore( most people I know is on facebook or myspace which I not one) but I get get a job interview from there. Try only applying for jobs with the blue star icon and people who have recommendations. I also use Craigslist but be careful. To avoid spam always google the company name, telephone, fax. Try to avoid yahoo, gmail, live and other email account like these. Always research before giving you info to any job sites.
I don’t get spam…..just me taking the time to research a company and try to a website or phone number to call and verify their listing is real.
