Jumping Beans: Does anyone else prefer to stay at home for their vacations?
I have found that I do not like traveling to other places for my vacations. It leaves me exhausted, grumpy and it’s always expensive. Granted, I do enjoy some things when I get there and rest up a little. But as a whole I’d much rather stay home. I’m always eager to get back whenever we leave. (Living on the coast in a hot vacation spot helps, I guess).

There might be one exception to this: cruises

I can’t wait ’til we go on a cruise.

I find that if I stay home, I try to get a million things done, like cleaning and laundry and grocery shopping, etc. It turns out to be a regular day.

What I like to do instead is take “mini trips”. The Hub and I will plan a day trip somewhere special. Sometimes we’ll even stay at a hotel that’s only 10 minutes away, just because it’s fun and we don’t have to clean up after ourselves.

I know what you mean about living in a tourist hot spot. San Francisco is right across the bridge for me. A day trip there is always fun!

I am a sahm so when we can go on a vacation then I jump on the opportunity…I am hope all the time and really need a vacation..lol

We do take alot of mini vacations/trips..we will do weekend getaways…we have 2 children and #3 on the way so yes it gets expensive for us too but it is well worth it..

We live in WV so we dont live close to a beach..so I need my vacations..lol
