Answer by AlTry Gen. 24:12-20 (the story of Abraham’s servant seeking a wife (Rebecca) for Abraham’s son (Isaac).
Gen. 41 (The story of Joseph and how he became prince of Egypt because of his faith in God and God protecting Egypt from starvation during a 7-year famine.)
1 Samuel 17 (The story of how David saved the Israelite army from surrendering to the Philistines, by killing Goliath).
Check out 1 Samuel 20 (How King Saul’s son (Jonathan) risked his own life to save his friend (David) from being killed by King Saul.)
The book of Ruth talks about how Ruth made sacrifices for her mother-in-law (Naomi) and how she was blessed as a result.
Joshua 2 tells the story about how the prostitute (Rahab) risked her life by hiding 2 spies, under flax on her rooftop, who Joshua had sent into the city of Jericho. If they had been caught hiding at her home, she would most likely been imprisoned or put to death. Instead, when Joshua conquered Jericho, Rahab and her family were the only survivors of the city.
The book of Esther talks about how she, as queen, risked her life to save her people from anihilation.
Hope this was helpful, and I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the many stories of God’s heros and heroins, in both the Old and New Testaments.
Answer by Dee Dee LivelyExodus 23:4 & 5 are about helping – and specifically helping your enemy! That is true service!
Leviticus 19:33 & 34 is about treating foreigners kindly and with love.
Exodus 23:11 is about giving to the poor
1 Samuel 2:1-11 is about how Samuel spent his early years serving Eli, the priest. It shows how doing even the smallest things for others is considered serving.
Good luck!
