my parents did the same thing. tell them its annoying that htey tell everyone, its just a way to express yourself. tell them that its better to do that than to go pierce every part of your body etc…Answer by jazz j

I do not think it is at all weird. I thinik it is awesome that you can express yuorself so freely and that you actually can dance. I couldn’t dance if my life depended on it. lol. Feel lucky. Own it hon. Not everyone can do that. lol โบAnswer by โฅ Jessica โฅ

I’ve been taking dance classes for 10 years! I love it and its truely my life! It took me a while to get over the stage where i was embarrassed when my parents mentioned my dancing to others. It was like they were revealing my secrets (not that there was anything to hide, but it was my passion and my special hobby that I didnt want anyone else to know about)!! I found that a dancer cannot be shy! They must be open, outgoing, and exciting! Dance is about expressing yourself through movement and if you’re only expressing it in a closed room where no one else can see, then its the same as just thinking about it rather than doing it! I was always able to perform in front of 500 people on a huge stage but when it came to a small group of family or friends, I held back and hesitated merely because I was shy (maybe even afraid) What you have to do is come out of you’re shell…it might take some time and you’ll probably have to take it one step at a time, but you’ll eventually free yourself from your cage and then, you’ll never be able to stop! ๐Answer by rich2481

Answer by GiselleI am exactly the same! I love dancing, it’s what i was born to do. My father was a pro dancer and choreographer. He taught my brother and me to dance from the age of three. We were all in a national folk dance group and toured the UK and USA, danced at festivals and on TV shows. My dad performed at shows where Elvis performed too in Germany. My dad got loads of medals, trophies, etc.
When i was 11 i enrolled on tap and ballet classes on a Saturday and i also took dance classes at school and was in every school concert. I still got photos somewhere of me doing the Can-Can on the school stage…lol I still couldn’t satisfy my appetite for dancing, So when i got home, i used to put music on in the front room and dance til i dropped! It’s how i spent almost all of my time. I was meant to go to the Northern Ballet school in Manchester but sadly family circumstances didn’t allow it to happen. When i was a teenager, one of my friends had a passion for dancing and we spent the winter evenings in that room, creating, naming and performing dances…all nite long…it was brilliant! Ahhhh the good old days. I am 40 now but nothing has changed. I still dance round the kitchen or lounge or bedroom or supermarket lol. No matter what music is playing, even if there is no music, i can just dance, dance, dance….to absolutely anything!
I know you are much younger but believe me you will still be dancing like crazy round the house forever!
Baby, we were just born to dance x
Answer by happyi’d say if you love it and you’re good at it you dhouldn’t be embarrassed. embrace it- don’t hide it! ๐Answer by graffitti-studios
Haha, if you love dancing don’t be embarassed to admit it! Take some classes, hone your skills, and enjoy yourself wherever you go.
I really hate to brag, but I’ve been dancing tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical, and gymnastic since age three(for all of them). I started competing at age 4 and a half(although everyone else in my class was five, really awkward), so I was just trained to go on stages and kill the butterflies in my stomach(although i got that phrase from theatre, my second love, where I’ve been working since age 5). I guess I’m an example that anyone can make it, no matter where they’re from. Specifying: I was born in Japan, lived there for two years, moved to South Africa, lived there for four years, moved to San Francisco, went to public school, did “favors” for people to pay my way through acting and dance academy, now I’m paid to do my dreams(I’m also a freelance graphic artist). I’ve always really hated the people on “So you think you can dance” and shows of this nature, when they say things like, “Oh, I’ve never had formal training, but I have passion and I love this and yada yada…” because if they really loved it, they would suck up their ego and take dance lessons, hone their technique instead of walking around waving arms and such. Like, give the professionals who have taught high schoolers in dance since age ten and have worked for nineteen years have a chance, will ya? :S
Sorry, I’m rambling. Again. Anyway, I’m off to go work people to death–I mean, choreograph some dancing.
