What past century movie do you find still really frightening?

Chriso: What movie from the past century do you find today still really frightening?
For me it is the 80’s movie “The Thing”.

I am a teenager and have watched a lot of horror movies, but there is something about that movie which really creeps me out!

I can’t watch the original version of The Exorcist (1973). That movie really bothers me! I think it’s because it makes one wonder if someone really could be possessed by the Devil.

A ghost movie from 1980 called ‘The Changeling’ – still remains the scariest movie I ever seen.

P.S The Thing is a super movie….a lot of my fave horror movies came out in the 80’s actually 🙂

I totally agree with The Thing. I’ve seen hundreds of horror movies, and that’s one of the few that really sticks with me. Others are Jacob’s Ladder, the original Night of the Living Dead (but this could have something to do with me seeing it when I was 8), and Eraserhead.

More current movies that managed to freak me out were Frailty, May, The Descent, The Loved Ones, and maybe 28 Days Later.
