erol: is it possible to connect a pc to a home cinema sistem via an other video player?
My pc has been upgraded recently and i do not have any connector matches between them both so i am forced to think outside the box. i have the following connectors :
pc : hdmi , vga , audio in out, audio jack usb and dvi (all modern outpouts you can imagine)
tv : scart , compozit video (simple connectivity basic)
home cinema 5.1 philips : scart ,compozit video aux audio in and out 2 channels each (basic but great audio/ video fidelity and power
Can i buy a separate cheap dvd/ media player to use as a bridge between pc to tv?
I am thinking pc to cheap player to home cinema to tv. is it possible? I know that it is a very complicated arrangement but is it at least possible and is there anything i should be looking for in the cheap player?

Yes, it is possible. As long as the video player has the input that matches one from your pc. Dvi is the same video protocol that HDMI uses, so a simple adapter works. Usually only video players that record have video inputs such as VCRs and DVRs. They also make converter/switch boxes that take multiple inputs (of various types) and one output so that you can switch video devices easily with a remote control. Unless you want a video recorder, I recommend a switch box with the right inputs. Good luck!

Hi,
You can purchase a VGA to scart lead, very cheaply, for around £2.00.
This will sort your analogue image out. Plug the VGA into your PC, the Scart end into the TV.
Next we need to look at the audio………..
connect the Audio Out from your PC on 3.5mm jack to your Home Cinema Player, which will probably be on RCA phono inputs, you can buy a lead for around £2.
This will work.
No need for a bridge, or fancy equipment

You can get media player that can stream content from the PC, but not that you can plug your PC into, then the player into the TV.
You can get PC to TV converter boxes, to show the PC screen on your TV. The bet way to go is VGA to composite, or SCART.
Answer by Mr.No0nEJust upgrade to a hd-tv. Make sure it has at least hdmi inputs.
