Ramon: Can my Limewire music be seen from the authorities when I download from iTunes?
I have been using limewire for downloading music, but due to the things I hear about people getting sued I want to stop and download music the right way, iTunes. The only concern i have is if you use iTunes, can my hardrive still be accessed to see if I ever downloaded illegaly. Basically, if I download music from iTunes, can they see if I have limewire music on my iTunes? I would greatly appreciate help. Thanks.

YES!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DELETE IT AND MICROWAVE YOUR HARD-DRIVE FOR 10 MINUTES ON HIGH TO REMOVE ALL TRACES!!! OR ELSE YOU WILL GO TO JAIL!!!!
I doubt they will be able to see if the files are pirated through iTunes as that will involve them pulling private system information for their use, which is in itself illegal.
They COULD prove those files as illegal if they obtained rights to view your hard disk and the files on there but that will never happen without due cause.
Answer by hides_in_the_darkYou can continue to download music from Limewire. I’ve been using Limewire for years. I’ve also downlaoded a song or two from iTunes. iTunes is connected to a database of music, therefore, nothing on your computer will be scanned by iTunes (except for your music collection within iTunes for the genuis feature). And the genius scans the music via band name, genre..etc..it’s not actually scanning to see if your music is legal or not. Besides, it would be illegal for anyone to access your computer without your permission. The stories you’re hearing about people getting sued happened back in the days of Napster (before it was reopened after legal issues) and people on Limewire who get caught are those who spend hours or even days at a time connected to Limewire downloading hundreds of songs at a time. If you’re connected for a few hours at a time at max then you’ll be just fine. I have a friend who’s always connected to Limewire when I see him on his computer and he’s never had issues.Answer by V4L
