wherehasthisworldgone: Can apartment staff enter my apartment if I am asleep or unaware of their presence?
I was home alone today, because I was sick, and I was awakened by the voice of three people in my apartment. Two were apartment managers and the other was unknown. They didn’t leave a note or anything to let me know that they had visited. I wasn’t properly dressed to go and talk to them, and I was unable to move because of how sick I was. Is it against any rules or regulations at all for managers to come into your apartment without you knowing or even when you’re home sick and asleep?

You don’t mention where you live, but you should look at your lease or rental agreement. In most places, you must be given 24 hours notice before an apartment manager or landlord can even knock on your door.
That’s a tough one. Most management at rental offices provide you with a note for your convenience, but they are not at liberty to do so.Answer by Austin S
They should have to you some advanced warning if they are to come in to your premises. I would definitely look into it with a lawyer if I were you though. Doesn’t sound like they should have just marched in without you knowing!Answer by robertcfranklin
If it was not an emergency situation, what they did would most likely be against the law. However, if you have given the landlord your thirty-day notice because you moving out, that action might have been legal.Answer by AJ
Unless its an emergancy, ie fire, broken pipes, etc., the apt managers cannot enter your apartment without 8 hours notice.Answer by mazziatplay
Yes it is. They cannot enter your home without giving you written notice.
Send them a Certified Letter advising them that you were home that day and that any future violations of your privacy without required legal notice will result in “appropriate action” to the `. That should stop them in their tracks.
