: What books would you recommend for a 9 year old girl with a high school reading level?
So basically my daughter is a reading machine, in fact she is running out of books to read. She really likes fantasy and realistic fiction. Keep in mind she is not mature enough for certain situations but she has read the hunger games (that’s the most violent book she has read) but anything slightly more violent is probably okay. As many books or authors or series’s as possible please!

The best book I have ever read (I actually read it at her age) is The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. It is beautiful and is definitely appropriate for her age level. Some other great authors are:
Susan Beth Pfeffer
V.C. Andrews
Nicholas Sparks (some of his books are alright, I would suggest for you to read them first)Answer by drip
go to the classics.
Pride and Prejudice
Little Women
Jules Verne
Honestly I would go to your library and talk to both the research librarian and the children’s librarian for help.
Answer by Nathan HuffThat’s basically how I was except a little bit younger. I was reading Stephen King in first grade. I think it’s just because I grew up without TV. I don’t know. I would completely disregard Twilight. Twilight is not high school level reading. She would probably even notice that. How about A Series of Unfortunate Events? I loved those when I was little. If her reading level is high school level she’ll actually understand the dark humor too.
