: When booking a Vacation through Expedia is it a better deal to book sooner then later?
I am planning a vacation to Maui for my family and have found Expedia to be the best deal. But every day the prices change. So I was wondering if I would get a better deal if I wait untill 1 week before our trip to book it or should I book it now.

As a travel agent who has been booking travel packages to Maui for over 20+ years I would say waiting until the week before you go is a BAD idea.

My experience is last minute bookings seldom get seats together on the flights, or all of your bedding requests. If your family is 3 people or less this isn’t too big of deal, but if you are traveling with more than 3 people or with little ones this will not be fun!

This online website may PROMISE you that you will get the bedding you request but bottom line it is space available. And the folks who booked months before you get first priority. Which is fair if you think about it.

Another thing 9/10/11 is a BIG wedding date here in Hawaii (our next big one is 11/11/11). Which means many destination wedding guests will start arriving around 9/5 or so. Making flights and good promotions on hotels and cars more limited.
