♦ Phoenix Rising♦: Are you offended by the use of the word Christmas like in “Christmas party”?
or do seeing “christmas trees” offend you because you are not Christian or do not celebrate Christmas?
I miss having a tree at work but since it can “offend” people and a lawsuit could unfold, we don’t have them anymore.
It kind of takes some joy away for me.

Political correctness stinks, doesn’t it? (By the way, I wouldn’t mind of someone told me Happy Hanukkah, or some other holiday, even though I’m Christian) I don’t know why the Political correctness crowd can’t have the same tolerance for holidays and traditions that have Christian roots.Answer by bigcitygrl2000
I absolutely am NOT offended by the use of the word Christmas and don’t really understand why people are. Christmas is the appropriate name for the holiday. It is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. I don’t ask anyone to believe if they don’t want to, but you can’t really deny the name of the holiday, considering that we wouldn’t even have Christmas if it weren’t for Jesus. I think that people have the right to choose what they believe in and what they celebrate, but I don’t think that we should be forced to observe a “non-holiday” just because other people don’t celebrate it. I am not Jewish, I don’t celebrate Hannukah, but I’m not offended when Jewish people celebrate it. It’s the same principle.Answer by CMP
i dont belive but i still celebrate christian holidays because i like them and because my family is christian
other religions dont bother me either
but i have never understood why some people are offended so much
i mean come on this is america (freedom of religion) so they cant abolish all christmas stuff

If I want to say the word Christmas, and someone gets offended, that person will just have to cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it !! Leave off the ‘ mas ‘ at the end, and you have a GOOD reason why some people get offended. Too bad !!Answer by skipjack
I didn’t know anybody was offended by Christmas. That’s pretty dumb of them if they are. I never had any problem with the expression ‘Happy Holidays’ either though. I always thought it covered Christmas and New Year’s, but it doesn’t bother me a bit if people use it to include Hannakuh, Kwanza, and the Super Bowl too.
