Unfortunately, that’s about all I can remember of this game. I played a lot of it in elementary school. I also seem to remember that the computer was NOT the IIe, but I could be wrong about that.

I think the game revolved moving a brother and sister (or two kids) through screens with mazes, gathering treasure and the occasional puzzle piece.

My guess is it was Lode Runner from the details you’ve provided. However, I am not entirely sure as it might also have been Win, Lose or Draw.

Could it be Think Quick! ? I tried to dig around the ‘series of tubes’ to find it for you. This is the best match I could find.
