Answer by Ask If you want to know
2x^2+5x-4=0
Discriminant = 5^2 -4(-4)(2) =
25 +32 = 57
x1 = (-5 + sqrt(57) )/4
x2 = (-5 – sqrt(57) )/4
Hi,
The quadratic formula is:
………______
-b ± √b² – 4ac
——————- = x
………2a
For 2x² + 5x – 4 = 0, a = 2, b = 5 and c = -4. The formula is:
………_________
-5 ± √5² – 4(2)(-4)
————————- = x
………2(2)
………______
-5 ± √25 + 32
——————- = x
………4
………__
-5 ± √57
———— = x <== ANSWERS
…..4
I hope that helps!! 🙂
