Robin Steele: Why are male dogs more affectionate and loving, and female dogs tend to be smarter?
Why are male dogs more affectionate and loving, and female dogs tend to be smarter?
Is this the opposite in regards to humans?
For Da Ben: Yes, male dogs tend to be more aggressive, but I’m speaking in regards to how male dogs act towards their owners. My female dog is more aloof and quiet, my male dog is more jubilant and “cute”. They are both from the same litter as well.
Ras C, you failed yet again. You copied and pasted what I wrote. Again, I didn’t write those words to you, idiot. I wrote it to Object of Ire. NOT YOU. I ACTUALLY AGREED WITH YOU ABOUT MOTHERS BEING WRONG FOR NOT TELLING THEIR FATHERS ABOUT ABORTIONS. But because you’re illiterate, you couldn’t read and see that I was speaking to someone else (Object of Ire). I didn’t know my words had such a resounding effect on you.

thats not true
I’ve only ever had female dogs-but don’t people say that male dogs tend to be much more aggressive than the females..? I wouldn’t call that affectionate and loving.
EDIT-I haven’t owned any male dogs, I honestly wouldn’t know. All I know is that they have quite a bad rep.My female dogs were very loyal though.

Well just like human beings dogs have distinct personalities. Your male dog may be loving and caring. And someone elses male dog maybe aggresive. And im sure female dogs seem more aggresive because they feel they have to protect their offsprings. Men Rule!!Answer by pathfinder
I have not notice anything of the sort.Answer by Priscilla B
While some female dogs are more agressive, this is only true of certain breeds. This question would probably do better in an “animal and pets” related section.Answer by ☆Girly McFemale☆
Whoa there. I’ve worked with pets my whole life and don’t find your inquiry true at all.
Training ability (smarts) depends more on the breed than the sex, sex is usually not a factor at all in intelligence.
Temperament (affection/aggressiveness) CAN be specific to sex, with the males displaying more extremes in temperament, either extremely loving or extremely aggressive, with bitches being more middle of the road on this. but again in most cases this comes down to breed, not sex.
This only seems to be true with dogs, with cats however, sex plays a HUGE part in temperament, though not intelligence.
Understand that your dogs are the exception, not the rule.

i personally think that its due to adaptation. haven’t u noticed that when it comes to animals in general, its the females that are more dangerous. i think its because its the female that has the responsibility of protecting her young and maintaining the survival of the species. therefore by nature she tends to be less trusting and smarter. well thats what i think, i donno about you.Answer by Object Of It’s Ire
Ya got any evidence for this???Answer by Elliot M

I’ve noticed the same thing but I don’t know why.Answer by Ras C
Object of Ire, you are one of the most self-righteous misandrists on here. How can you say a male dog is more affectionate and lovin than a female dog.
You are one misandristic idiot.
