Randal: A story about “Why is it wise to personally use the products you market?”?
I’m seeking short tales of fiction or non-fiction (possibly Aesop’s Fables or Grimm’s Fairy Tales?), that point out the wisdom of actually using the items that you bring to the marketplace. I am looking for something perhaps up to 30 pages in length.
The following totally fictional scenarios are examples of the kind of stories I’m looking for:
Sidney Squirrel is the owner/operator of Sidney’s Wholesale Nuts. Sidney should take his need for winter nourishment to Sidney’s Wholesale Nuts, even if he prefers the taste of Seymour’s Select Nuts,
or
Timothy of Timothy’s Tiaras and Precious Stones should purchase the engagement ring he wishes to give to his girlfriend Trudy, from Timothy’s Tiaras and Precious Stones, even if he is tantalized by the offerings of Jeff’s House of Jewels,
or
The owner of Omar’s Oil Lamps should purchase his lighting needs from his own stock, even if they are a bit dusty and need some polishing, than to go across town to the glittering shop of Ahmed’s Artificial Lights,
or
Alexandros of Alexandros’ Armor should purchase his battlefield needs from his own establishment instead of from Socrates’ Shields, where today only they are offering 25% off the regular price!
I am looking for ‘short’ stories or fables, not epic poems or novels. I wish to use these as teaching aids, so any literary work that you could recommend would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help with this project!

I think you will find some ideas in “Rhinoceros Success,” although it is longer than 30 pages in length. Perhaps one of the chapters might be sufficient for what you are trying to do. You can get the book at Amazon.com or on eBay. It’s a good read, although it focuses more on motivation than marketing.
