Katie: A good audition song for a girl with soprano 2 to alto range?
I have my audition for select chorus in about a week and a half. I need a song (either a classical piece, from a musical, or a Disney song) for a girl with a soprano 2 to low alto range. My voice is tends to be on the airier side, and I want a song that shows off my ability to hit low and high notes. Any ideas?

you should sing reflection. that is what my daughter did and she got a solo! it is from the movie Mulan
There’s a song that’s lovely from Thumbelina. Short and sweet.
I don’t know the name but I know the lyrics.
“I know there someone
somewhere
someone
Whose sure to find me soon
After the rain goes
there are rainbows
I’ll find my rainbow soon
soon it won’t be just pretend
soon a happy ending
love can you here me
If you’re near me
Sing your song
Sure and strong
and soon”
It sounds lovely a capella too.
Answer by JRSomething from RENT should do the trick. Check out the soundtrack if you don’t have it already. And if you wanna go disney *shudder* but good- “colors of the wind” from pocahontas is a good choice.Answer by Taylor R
airy is really bad, and most directors dont like airy voices.. trust me your talking to the queen of oxygen lol. so try poking your stomach out hard when you sing.
some good songs might be: sebben crudele
alma del core
Fever .. im not sure if its in any musicals but its a good song for low and high.. AND ITS EASY not to sound airy while singing it..

Some songs from the Little mermaid might be interesting!
